What type of iron does the RFFE20-BB cartridge reduce?
The RFFE20-BB cartridges are designed to reduce the amount of ferrous iron (clear water iron). This is the only form of iron that is easily oxidized and precipitated. Ferric iron (red water iron) is already oxidized and does not require more than the regular filtration. Heme iron (organic/bacteria iron) is organically bound and not easily oxidized. Heme is the iron component of hemoglobin.
