Built-In Refrigerator Ice Maker Filters
Most modern refrigerators with ice makers use an internal OEM cartridge filter that mounts inside the refrigerator or behind the base grille. These refrigerator ice maker filters are brand and model-specific and need to be replaced every six months. All Filters carries OEM and SpiroPure compatible options for the major brands including Whirlpool (EveryDrop EDR1RXD1, EDR3RXD1), Samsung (DA29-00020B, DA29- 00003G), LG (LT1000P, LT700P), GE (RPWFE, XWFE), Frigidaire (ULTRAWF, WF3CB), and many others. Inline Ice Maker Filters
If your refrigerator dispenses water or makes ice but doesn't have a built-in filter, a universal inline water filter is a practical solution. This is more common in older models and some commercial units. These external filters are installed in the water supply line (often 1/4 inch plastic tubing) between the wall valve and your refrigerator or stand-alone ice machine's inlet. Though they can be hard to reach behind the fridge in some kitchens, once you're there they can be added in a few minutes without special tools. SpiroPure inline carbon filters use coconut shell GAC media to reduce chlorine, taste, and odor, and are available with 1/4" quick-connect, 1/4" FNPT fittings, and 3/8" quick-connect to match your existing line. For upgraded filtration, the SpiroPure MineralPlus line adds a remineralization stage that restores natural pH balance and improves taste. All inline filters should be replaced at least every 6 to 12 months.
